CAREER DISCOVERY WEEKEND

The weekend retreat is ideal for those with busy schedules who want to take some time out to focus on their career goals and consider the steps they need to take in order to change career.

The weekend is held on the island of Arran which is off the west coast of Scotland. It’s a great venue for relaxing, recharging your batteries and taking stock of your life.

There are a maximum of 6 participants on any weekend course thus ensuring individual attention. Each participant also receives an individual coaching session as part of this course.
Over the weekend we cover all the pieces of the Jigsaw Career Discovery Model and encourage REFLECTION, EVALUATION and ACTION

REFLECTION

The initial aim is to increase your self awareness of;

  • Your unique talents and abilities
  • Your personality traits
  • Your motivations, interests and passions
  • Your values ( what’s most important to you)
  • Your key successes to date

Reflecting on these will lead you to determine;

  • A life purpose statement which can be used as a guiding principle
  • Your ideal working environment
  • Career ideas and themes

EVALUATION

You will then evaluate your career options and decide on the direction you wish to pursue in terms of your career.

ACTION

At this stage you create goals and an action plan to enable you to move towards your ideal job/career.

BENEFITS

After this weekend you will:

  • have greater self-confidence due to a better understanding of
  • your unique talents and abilities
  • have clarification on your career goals
  • be able to make better decisions as you will have clarity on what’s most important to you
  • have prepared a comprehensive action plan to take you in the direction of your chosen career

VENUE

BELVEDERE is a three-star, privately-run guest house enjoying a picture postcard view across Brodick Bay towards Goat Fell, the tallest mountain on the Isle of Arran. It is ideally situated for hillwalking, golfing, sightseeing or relaxing.
